Where were we?
By: Jonathan | January 26th, 2009Time to get this blog going again. That was a bit of a long break – sorry about that, my wife gave birth to our first child towards the end of 2008 and I have been quite busy since then! It’s a boy, so I intend to bring him up as a Francophile and a St Etienne fan. I can try, anyway.
St Etienne have been busy too – being awful. With a meagre total of 20 points so far, they are only one place (and three points) off the relegation zone. They’ve also just been knocked out of the Coupe de France. They are still in the UEFA Cup, but very unlikely to win it, so the priority until May has to be “le maintien”. Can they do it, or is this once-great club heading for yet another spell in Ligue 2? Find out here in the coming months on The Offside’s St Etienne page.

Wow, awesome game against Olympiacos. Dernis’ strike was amazing. Now, as long as we don’t lose allow bore than two goals at the Geoffrey-Guichard…
